Subject: sad news


I hate to be the bearer of bad news;

I have just been informed that Rick "Two Tone" Courtney has succumbed to the injuries sustained related his motorcycle accident on May 4th. He gave it a good fight for the past 12 days but the injuries were just too severe.

He left behind a wonderful wife and two children, many other family and friends.
 Please pray for peace for all his loved ones.

 I will let you know when there is info on the funeral.

 

"Kimi" Freedom Rose: Born 12- 02-1959 in Chico Calif.
 Died 3-26-2008 of surgical complications in Tacoma WA

 Her family was with her when she died.

  Kimi lived in Spanaway most of her life and attended school in the Bethel Dist-class of 77.
She is Survived by her sons: Josh Zeiler, Kyle Downs and Mark Krapf.
 Her soulmate & Fiancé Bill Allison of Portland Oregon.
 And Her parents Dee(Don) Arneberg,  sister Deb(mark) Thyen, brothers Rock(Deb) and Rick Buttelo. Many nieces, nephews, Friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father Gene Buttelo,aunt Linda Houle and grandparents on both sides.

 Her greatest joy was the wind in her hair either in front or riding bitch in back.
She made Many rides to Sturgis, and with the Outsiders gathering by the Gorge.
 After the assault on her Jan.1 1996,
She became Pit Boss for the  Mark I Vintage Formula Racing Team U.S.A.
 She was known to take out a motor and put back in faster than some men.
 All 5'2" and 125 lbs. of her!

I am sad to report that (Crazy) Ted Barnhart passed away last week (January 6, 2008).
  He was a long time member and supporter of ABATE of Washington.
  Many will remember him from his days as head of security for
 State ABATE and his willingness to help others.

  He will be missed by all that new him.

   On Wednesday, November 14,one of Tennessee’s most respected Freedom Fighters, Michael L. Hays (Twanger), died at his home in Nolensville of a heart attack. Mike was born in Pulaski, TN on June 17, 1955 to Harold Dean Hughes and Doris Ellen Baker Hughes Hays, who have both preceded him in death, as well as his respected step-father, Freeman C. Hays, M.D. 

   An avid motorcyclist, he was the State Legislative Corporate Director for CMT/ABATE, the state-wide motorcyclists rights organization, as well as that organization’s lobbyist. He was also a member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation in Washington, DC, and recently lobbied on their behalf in the US Congress. Mr. Hays was also the sole proprietor his agency, Midsouth Talent & Booking.  Prior to living in Nashville, Mike had been a radio announcer in Orange, VA,  toured with his band, Mike Hays and the Haybailers, and prior to that had spent many years selling specialty audio equipment. Michael entered the US Navy in 1974, served  honorably, and at the time of his discharge 1978 was a member of the Admiral’s band as singer and saxophonist.

   Mike is survived by his immediate family: one brother; Paul M Hays (Cindy), Washington, DC and three sisters; Barbara Thomas (Cam), Underwood, WA, Pamela Johnson (Shannon), Elizabethton, TN, and Patricia Ruth Emory (Jimmy), Richmond, VA. Also surviving are his daughter, Michelle Diana Williams (Indianapolis, IN), two granddaughters Savannah & Taylor, and grandson Bishop.   Mike will also be deeply missed by his life partner, Carol Simpson of Nolensville, her three children and six grandchildren, and additionally, by a true army of Brother & Sister Freedom Fighters and many of his friends in the music industry.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov 19,from 3pm to 5:45pm at Woodbine Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. The funeral service will be held at the same location beginning at 6pm. A buffet remembrance reception , hosted by brother Paul will be held at Mike and Carol’s home immediately following the service.

On Tuesday, Nov 20 a procession led by the Patriot Guard will take Mike’s remains from Hickory Chapel
 at 9:00 a.m. to Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski where he will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. near to his father,
 Mr. Hughes, and his paternal grandparents.

Mike Hays was a man of faith, and had been close to the Methodist Church throughout his lifetime.

Another Great Motorcycle Leader Gone!

 Longview Tom was involved in a Motorcycle Accident September 28, 2007 near Biggs Oregon
 On his way to the NCOM Regional in Spokane-

As of 10-2-2007 Longview Tom, a member of the Gypsy Joker MC & President of the Oregon C.O.C.
 was taken off life support at OHSU in Portland, OR. at around 6:30pm and passed away shortly afterwards at about 6:45pm. He was surrounded by family, Gypsy Joker members, Free Soul members, Freedom Fellowship MM members from Salem and Vancouver and myself. He will be missed.

It is with sadness that I tell you he passed away October 2- 2007

Ladies and Gentlemen, This mission is confirmed! Detailed information is below.      Services for Longview Tom will be this Sunday, October 7 at 3 PM, at Central Bible Church, 8815 NE Glisan St., Portland.  We will stage in the parking lot behind the church.  The entry is just west of the building. Cabbie will be ride captain for this mission with assistance from Kevin Williams. Staging time will be 1:30 PM (1330), ride briefing at 1:45 (1345) and establish the flag line at 2:00 PM (1400).  There is really no good place to stage and ride en masse to the church without encountering a lot of lights and traffic so for the sake of safety and expedience we will go ahead and meet at the church. Getting to 8815 NE Glisan:  From I-205 southbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn right at the stoplight.  The church is on the right about 6 blocks down.  From I-205 northbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn left at the stoplight and the church will be on the right about 8 blocks down.  From I-84 eastbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane as it will take you onto the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church.  From I-84 westbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane to the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church. Let's see what kind of turn out we can have for one of our own whom we all dearly loved and will miss.   Rest in peace Tom

I'm not sure who I need to contact or speak to about this.
 I was involved in a very bad accident on August 12,2007 in Wickenburg AZ on Yarnell Hill.
 I was critically injured & my boy friend Scott Anderson, who I was riding with died.
 I'd like to add him on your page if possible & also if I can get help it would be extremely appreciated.
 I was able to just recently go back to work.

My leg was broken in 4 places
I was in car sales, But for now I have to make do as the receptionist which doesn't pay the bills to well.

I'm told until I'm 100% & released from my doctors care I'm a liability!
 I've enclosed a picture of Scott Anderson.

 After a valiant battle with cancer ABATE of WA Member Bruce Kingsland, a past state Secretary of ABATE of Washington, passed away at about 2:00 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2007. Bruce was also a member of the Gold Wing Touring Association, Motorcycle Riders Foundation and a past member of Renton ABATE.

 He was my friend and he will be missed.

 Elbe man dies in car crash.

  Roger Mackey Jr. was killed in a single car rollover accident
 on State Route # 7 in Lewis County. Roger Mackey Jr.
 age 46 was a passenger in a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro driven by
 Shelly Darrah on Dec. 7th. when the car left the roadway
 heading north about 9 pm approximately 2 miles south of Elbe.
 Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the car after it
 struck a stone wall & rolled several times and came to rest in the
 south bound lanes of the highway. Mackey died at the scene
 from head injuries. Shelly Darrah was transported to Morton General Hospital and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

  Suddenly passed away the weekend of December 1, 2006.
Our thoughts and prayers go out
 to Dennis's family and to Karen.

Dennis was a strong supporter of our chapter

Around May 3rd. while visiting the Chiropractor (Rambo)
Apparently suffered a heart Attack & was rushed to
 Auburn General Hospital. From what I have been told
(Rambo) is now in an induced coma until the fluid in his
Lungs clears up. Then he will need heart surgery.

Update, 11/20/06
 I am very sad to say that Rambo Passed away on or about 11/14/2006 From Complications from Cancer.

On a personal note, "Rambo had always been a loyal
Personal friend of mine!" And an active ABATE Member.
"Yes he loved to drink & Party,
 But he always had an ABATE application in his pocket!"
"(BFB) & his Friends will be hosting a Small Benefit
To say farewell To Rambo!"

It is with a deep sadness that we acknowledge the loss of a Northwest friend and icon Russ Tom.
 Russ, who was well known for his custom motorcycles and his love of all motorsports,
 was a driving force in the world of motorcycling.
Whether it was a Harley or a Honda, Russ had a passion for all things motorcycle.
His innovative designs and signature ideas were instantly recognizable in his custom creations
 that helped to make DHD and Downtown Harley-Davidson a Northwest brand name and leader in the industry.

Russ had a strong interest in helping others to succeed
 which was evident in those that worked with him, as well as in the charitable rides
 that he helped put together for Boyer's Children's Clinic and others.
 Russ will be missed, though our love for him will continue.

45, born May 4th 1960 in Germany,
 Passed away on Saturday April 15, 2006 in Tacoma, WA.
Sig is survived by son Jason and his wife Caroline, father Rick Young, sister Doris and her family in Europe, and Manuela Wachter ex-wife whom he was married to for 20 years.

Throughout Sig’s life, he acquired a larger family. People were attracted to Sig’s big heart and fun loving personality. He surrounded himself with people that didn’t need to put on an act, people that would be themselves and speak their minds. This was one of the rules that he lived by and is why his family grew to be so large.

Sig had an outstanding work ethic and excelled at everything that he did. He had many passions in life his favorite being his “shovel head” Harley Davidson that he rode cross country and seemed to always be tuning or replacing parts on. His bike tool bag was always in use. Another one of his passions was family. Didn’t matter if it was his son, father, or “extended” family he was always there to lend a helping hand. He didn’t command respect, it was always given to him and in return he gave the same.

Sig would love for his friends and family not to mourn his death but to celebrate his life and live as if today could be your last. He will be missed by all and will always be in our hearts and souls. “Peace, live in it or rest in it.”

There will be a celebration of Sig’s life that will be held at Galloping Gerties bar and grill at 15417 Union Avenue SW Tillicum, WA. (253) 588-7131 on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00pm. Donations can be made at the service.
